Hotel Review: Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel

The Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel just 1.3 miles from LAX International Airport. The hotel is a perfect choice for anyone departing on an early morning flight or arriving into LAX late at night. The hotel has a concierge, bellman, fitness room, sauna, outdoor pool and high-speed internet as well as many more amenities.

The 6:30 AM Flight Delimma

A 6:30 am flight departure is never easy. If it is an international departure from an airport that is 2 hours away without traffic it quickly becomes a dilemma.

That is exactly what I was facing on a trip to Cebu, Philippines. I lived in San Diego at the time of this flight but needed to arrive at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 4 am.

There is nothing appealing about arriving at the airport at 4am. The best solution was to head to Los Angeles the night before and stay at a hotel near the airport.

Once my departure time to the Philippines was confirmed, I began looking for a hotel for the night before my flight. My number one priority for the hotel was that it was very close to LAX .

My second priority was for the hotel room be soundproofed so I could get a good night’s sleep. Well, partial night sleep when my alarm would go off at 3:30am. If you head to TripAdvisor or any other review site, the biggest complaint I read about hotels near LAX was plane noise.

The Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel Review

I reached out to the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel and they were kind enough to offer me a room. The hotel had everything I wanted. They are about a mile from LAX, they offer a 24-hour airport shuttle, have a restaurant for an early dinner and the rooms are soundproofed. This meant no flight noise.

The Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel is an upscale hotel with 443 guest rooms, including 59 upgraded suites.

The hotel is loaded with amenities that I wished I had more time to explore. I arrived late afternoon and as you know, had to depart before the sun rose for the day!

I had time to explore the lobby and appreciated the decor and art.

I enjoyed an early dinner at the lobby bar. The bar menu included casual fare like a club sandwich, burger and open-faced salmon sandwich and flatbread pizzas.

Also on the menu are main courses such as miso chicken, filet mignon, and pasta carbonara. I opted for a chicken Caesar salad and a glass of Cabernet.

It was classic Caesar and delicious.

The hotel offers a business center with computers that make it very convenient to check email and confirm flights.

My room, on the 9th floor, had great views of the flights taking off and landing at LAX. The room was very spacious, the bed was super comfy with great pillows.

Pillows can be a deal breaker for me. Some are so big, that I just don’t sleep well. Thank you Renaissance LAX for picking out the perfect pillow.

I appreciated the shuttle showing up on time and a very short ride to the airport.

Parting thoughts: If you are looking for an upscale hotel near LAX airport with all the amenities, great food, spacious soundproofed rooms with a great bed this is my number one recommendation.

My favorite site for hotel reviews is TripAdvisor. To check current rates for Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel, I suggest visiting Hotels.com or Booking.com.
