Hotel Review: The Nam Hai Hoi An, Vietnam
The Nam Hai Hoi An Hotel is easily the most luxurious hotel I will probably ever stay in. It may have ruined all future hotel stays for me because I can not possibly imagine how any resort could be as amazing in terms of accommodation, service, relaxation, scrumptious food and delicious cocktails. The Nam Hai raises the bar. I stayed in a one-bedroom, beach-view villa. Although the villas are all situated next to each other, I felt like I had the beach to myself. Each villa has it’s own walls to provide the up-most privacy. The Nam Hai has it all and I encourage you to book your stay there right this instant. You will not regret your decision and I am here to tell you why! Although the Nam Hai really needs no introduction, here it goes…
Located on the pristine Ha My beach on Vietnam’s central coast and set in 87 acres of expansive, sculpted grounds, The Nam Hai is considered one of the world’s leading small hotels. (It currently has more than 1,500 “excellent” reviews on TripAdvisor.) There are 60 self-contained small villas, all featuring a raised four-poster bed facing the South China Sea, as well as 40 larger villas with up to five bedrooms, a private pool, and quarters for a butler.
I never thought I’d be able to say that I had my own personal butler! My butler, Be, was there from roughly 9am every morning until I either went out to dinner with my parents or went to sleep for the night. She was there to serve happy hour wine and canapé in my villa each evening, to organize transportation into Hoi An’s town, to book spa appointments and restaurant reservations and to turn down my room every evening.
She coordinated with the butler at my parent’s villa each day to ensure that both my parents and I knew where to connect throughout the day. This was super helpful considering my parents did not have a local sim card and were not using their phones as often as normal. Each day Be asked if I had any laundry I would like done. Laundry was free each day with the villa so I happily took advantage of this service. She was extremely attentive and sweet. Each day she asked what I had done that day, where I had explored and what meals I had enjoyed. Be ensured that my stay was just perfect. Although, how could my stay not be amazing when I had my own one-bedroom villa.
The Nam Hai’s villas are the only type of accommodation available. There are no ordinary hotel rooms on the grounds. A one-bedroom villa consists of two different buildings. The first building is essentially an entertainment/office center. It comes equipped with a flat screen television, a fully stocked bar, and a built-in stereo system with an iPod that is loaded with every time of music you could possibly want. I used this room to get a bit of work done during downtime and for happy hour one evening with my parents.
The second building is a bedroom with a canopy king-size bed, a desk, seating area, bathroom and a secret patio with an outdoor shower! The two buildings in the one-bedroom villas, as well as the rest of the grounds, have very reliable wifi. I was very tempted to take one of the white robes in the room with me once I checked out; it was the comfiest thing ever!
Each villa has a private pool and lounge area. From the beach-view villas, you can walk directly onto Nam Hai’s private stretch of gorgeous beach.
The Nam Hai has two restaurants. The first is known simply as The Restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. Breakfast consists of a large buffet with fresh juice and fruit, pastries, a bloody Mary bar and a Vietnamese pho station. A breakfast menu supplements the buffet; the eggs Benedict was phenomenal. At dinner, The Restaurant serves an Indian-fusion menu. The second restaurant, known as The Beach Restaurant, serves an amazing Vietnamese cuisine menu. You really can’t go wrong with either option.
The grounds of The Nam Hai are beautiful. There is a large pool in the center of the hotel, located in between the two restaurants. The pool directly overlooks the beach ahead.
The Nam Hai spa is known as one of the best hotel spas in the world. I enjoyed being pampered and had a massage on my last day at The Nam Hai. Each treatment room is its own building, which looks out onto a small lake. The treatment rooms have a private bathroom and shower, and massage tables that overlook the lake. There are two massage tables per room so it’s perfect for couples massages if you are traveling with your special someone.
I hope you have the opportunity to stay at The Nam Hai as well. The Nam Hai is absolutely exquisite and goes above and beyond what is expected at hotels. While I stayed here with my parents, I can only imagine how amazing the Nam Hai would be for a honeymoon or a luxury girls’ trip. Really The Nam Hai suites anyone who wants a relaxing, luxury stay in Vietnam!
