Guest Posting 101 & Why Travel Blogs Accept Guest Posts

I’ve included information for each website including domain authority, website niche, writer’s guidelines and contact information.

Domain Authority (DA) for each site was checked using Keysearch, which is my go-to tool for keyword research, competitive analysis and so many other SEO factors.

What Is Guest Blogging?

Guest posting is the writing of an article for another travel website or a blog. Guest blogging offers great benefits for the guest blogger and website owner. One gets content in the form of a travel guest post, and the other gets backlinks and new traffic.

Why Should Bloggers Take Time & Submit An Article To Another Website?

In a nutshell, guest posting to other blogs allows you a link back to your website from the article you write. This means a “backlink” to your website. It also helps with brand awareness and domain authority! Other benefits of guest posting include:

It will give you the opportunity to try different types of travel niche writing so you can find what you enjoy writing about. If you don’t have a website yet, you can ask for a link back to a social media account or get a promise for a link back to your website once you launch it.

Pitching Tips for Guest Posts:

Before you reach out to pitch a story to any of the below websites, it’s a MUST to visit the blog and scroll around to understand more about the owner of the blog, their writing style, tone of the site, and the topics they cover. Additional tips to pitch guest posting sites include:

• If there are guest post guidelines, read them carefully.
• Search their site to make sure they haven’t already posted a version of the same story you plan to pitch. (only pitch original content).
• Do a bit of keyword research. In your pitch share some keywords with decent traffic that you can include.
• Keep the audience of the site you are pitching in mind. Every website has its own unique audience, so it’s important to tailor your guest post accordingly. For example, if you’re writing for a Travel blog that focuses on adventure travel, your post should focus on these types of experiences.

After that, you can pitch a few topics you would like to cover in your guest post.

Guest Posting Tips:

In general, most travel bloggers are happy to accept high-quality and original articles. The other option is to ask for a paid sponsored post.

This might seem obvious, but #1 would be to write a great article. This is your chance to show off your writing skills, so make sure your post is well-written and informative. A few more tips include:

• Only submit original content. Never copy and paste from other sites.
• Provide high-quality photos if this is part of the guest post requirements.
• Know the word count and make sure your provide an article that fits their range.
• Include a bio and photo. Most guest posts will include a short bio about the author and a photo. Be sure to have both of these things when you submit your post.

Totally Legit Travel Guest Posting Site Opportunities

These are all sites that accept travel guest posts. They were originally sorted according to their Domain Authority (DA) by Moz. Two things about this, DA changes and in my opinion, this isn’t the most important factor to consider when choosing guest posting sites.

I think a combination of writing for high domain authority as well as sites that fit your niche are equally important. Also, don’t forget that a lower domain authority site today could be a high domain site in the next few months or by next year!
