Glider Ride on Oahu’s North Shore

52 Perfect Days, editor Alexa Meisler soars in the sky with The Original Glider Rides on the North Shore of Oahu. Taking off from Dillingham Airfield on Oahu’s North Shore our glider was towed up into the sky by a small propeller plane and then let loose to glide over the Pacific Ocean, Mountains and the television show "Lost" filming sight. Family Fun on Kauai

Kauai has a reputation as a romantic and quiet island and after a recent trip with my husband and children we found how family friendly it is as well. Our hotel of choice for this family vacation was the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club in Lihue. The beautiful entrance is situated among swaying palm trees and adorned with numerous tiki torches. Entering the spectacular open air lobby you’ll find Koi ponds, beautiful swans and lush tropical gardens.

Hawaiian Fine Dining

Located at the beautiful Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa in Poipu, the restaurant Tidepools is an experience for the senses. Featuring contemporary Hawaiian fare with Asian flavors the cuisine is simply delectable. The only thing that may top the food is the beautiful setting.

Situated in an open-air thatched roof hut above a koi-filled lagoon surrounded by flickering Tiki torches, Tidepools is definitely romantic. Ask for a table beside the waterfall for ultimate views. It is hard to find a restaurant with more beautiful surroundings anywhere on the island.
